"A Beautiful Ocean After All" and "Blue as the Sea" are two fantastic quilts made by Karin Sanders and donated
to Four Season's especially for this auction. Proceeds will be earmarked for our continued work in helping people who
were devastated by the tsunami to restart their lives. While the original deadline had been set
to December 26th, we have decided to extend this deadline due to a last-minute bid on "Blue as the Sea". The deadline
to put in new bids is now 12 midnight GMT on January 2nd, 2006.
If only the camera could capture the beauty of these two quilts and the fine work! Karin Sanders has
used materials from Sri Lanka, Thailand, Pakistan, Japan, South Africa, and Norway. The largest quilt, "A
Beautiful Ocean After All," is 64" x 91" (163cm X 230cm). The smaller quilt, "Blue as the Sea," is 60" X 77" (150cm
X 193cm). She has found colors and patterns that just make the dedications come alive. How many people didn’t
have trouble looking at the ocean and its waves for a long time after the tsunami? Yet these two quilts capture the
beauty and serenity that are also such an important part of the mighty and vital oceans.
